Our Stroke Service at Darent Valley Hospital is dedicated to providing the best possible clinical care for patients who have had a stroke or Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA). We cater to all phases of the stroke pathway, ensuring rapid assessments, effective rehabilitation, and exemplary care for all patients.

Comprehensive Care for Stroke Patients

The Stroke Unit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, offering rapid assessments and early-stage treatment to optimise recovery outcomes. Care is provided by a multidisciplinary team including consultant stroke physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists. These professionals work tirelessly to support patients’ recovery in feeding, communication, mobility, and overall rehabilitation. Collaboration with the Trust’s consultant neurologists and vascular surgeons strengthens our ability to provide unmatched care.

  • Speech: Is their speech slurred?
  • Time: Act quickly—call 999 immediately.
