  1. How you help

The difference you make

In the last 5 years, £2 million has been raised through Valley Hospital Charity to support the work of Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. This means that despite our NHS budget tightening, the Charity has been able to help meet the requests of staff and patients, to purchase new equipment, support projects and develop services, that otherwise wouldn't have been possible.  NHS Trusts are looking more and more to their NHS Charities to enhance patient care, so we need your support more that ever.

Comments from staff who had their funding requests met by Valley Hospital Charity:

“Thank you so much, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you allocating me the funds for the scanner.  I will certainly champion the charitable funds and invite you to view the equipment once it’s received.”

Debbie McMillan - MS Specialist Nurse

“On behalf of all the obstetric anaesthetists and the mothers we take care of, could you convey our gratitude to the Charitable Board. They are welcome to the labour ward when the machine arrives where we can show them how the ultrasound will be used. They have been very generous and we will make sure that the equipment is used and kept well.”

Dr Francoise Iossifidis MD, FRCA Consultant Anaesthetist

"Thank you so much for purchasing our new set of lithotomy poles and storage cart. Rest assured, these items are already being put to good use in DCU Theatres and will provide our future patients with many years of safe and reliable service. Your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated."

Tina Smith, DCU Theatre Sister.

“This is really excellent news -  thank you so much! This will make a huge difference to safety and quality of patient care and will improve the working experience of our staff  - it is much appreciated. Thank you!”

Karen Costelloe, General Manager, Surgical Services

“Heartfelt thanks from all of us, it is really nice of you to acknowledge our need to get these bits of equipment. It will be our pleasure to do whatever that needs to be done to promote your excellent work. I am pretty certain my colleagues will join me in thanking you for this gesture. I am also certain that as mentioned in the meeting,  this will enable us to provide better safe care to patients and  training  to our future doctors.”

Dr Prasad Vyakarnam

Regular support from our donors allows us to plan more effectively and support longer term projects. If you would like to set up a regular gift then you can do this through our donate page; just tick the 'Set up a regular payment' box.
