About us Latest News North Downs Run supports Children's Waiting Room Play Equipment We were thrilled to welcome Geoff Bains, representing the North Downs Run Race Committee and Istead and Ifield Harriers, who have generously donated £1,000 towards the Children's Resource Centre (Paediatric Outpatients) at Darent Valley Hospital. The money was raised from the proceeds of this year's North Downs Run, 30km multi-terrain race, which took place on Sunday 29 June 2025 from the Race HQ at Cyclopark, Gravesend. The funds, raised through runner entry fees and race sponsorship, will be used to install heavy-duty, static play equipment in the waiting room area. This significant contribution will greatly benefit patient care, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children during their visit to the hospital. Adapting Through Challenges During the pandemic, communal toys were no longer allowed, leaving a gap in providing entertainment and comfort for young patients. While we have received toy donations over the years, they often deteriorate quickly due to heavy usage, leading to safety concerns and their eventual removal. Thanks to this donation, the new equipment will be more durable and built to withstand years of use, creating a lasting impact for the children and families who utilise our facilities. Your Support Matters We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the North Downs Run Race Committee and Istead and Ifield Harriers for their support. To further aid this cause, you can contribute to our Lollipop Fund, dedicated to enhancing the experiences of young patients at Darent Valley Hospital. Make a difference today – your donation, big or small, contributes to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for children in our care. Donate today to our Lollipop Fund. Join us in making this project a resounding success for years to come. Thank You Your support truly means the world to us and the children we serve. Together, we can make a lasting positive impact.
